Our Story
Fresh grass, grown by horse people, for horse people.
Born out of necessity
Equi Greens began in California, where founder Jennifer Apelian, a hunter/jumper rider and trainer with more than 30 years in the saddle, couldn't find enough fresh grass for her horses and regular feed just wasn't cutting it.
She believed we should be as selective about what goes into our horses' bodies as we are about our own. So she started sprouting barley grass herself, saw remarkable results, and was soon feeding her friends' and clients' horses too. She brought Equi Greens to Wellington, where it became a staple in some of the top barns on the circuit.
A horsewoman at the helm
Today, Equi Greens is led by Bridgette Franchi.
Bridgette has been riding her whole life and has managed horses at some of the most well-known show stables in the world. She didn't find Equi Greens as an investor. She found it as a client. When her barn started feeding it, she saw firsthand how much it helped horses, and she fell in love with it. When the chance came to carry it forward, she took it.
The grass hasn't changed: grown hydroponically in Wellington with zero chemicals and delivered fresh every day.
